The library organised a one-day training workshop on Muni University Library Systems and Procedures.

The workshop that took place on Thursday January 23, 2020 at the University Council Hall was meant to introduce the newly recruited Academic Staff and re-orient the old Academic Staff to Muni University Library services, procedures and resources.

The workshop was officially opened by The Deputy Vice Chancellor-Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Anguma Simon Katrini. He welcomed the new Staff to Muni University and challenged them to work in order to provide solutions to problems (rather than creating them) and embrace team work.He asked them to strive for information whether academic, social and philosophical as library is the source of information and stores volumes of literature for teaching.

According to the University Librarian Dr.Frederick Mukungu, all the resources needed for the various disciplines are in the Library and Muni  University is a member of Consortium of Uganda University  Libraries (CUUL) and African Library & Information Associations& Institutions hence  all electronic databases that are found anywhere in the country are in Muni University Library.

The workshop attendance was to capacity as 53 participants attended and engaged in interactive sessions throughout the training period. Participants were introduced to various library services and systems like: The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), Institutional Repository, RemoteX (for off-campus access to electronic resources), the various e-books and e-journals subscribed by Muni University, the Urkund Anti-plagiarism software, among others. There was also a brief demo of the Academic Information Management System (AIMS) by Mr.Kihembo Leonny, the Senior Assistant Registrar.
